What Should I wear on my RYA Powerboat course?

As the sun starts to shine again, its easy to think that spring is here and that we can leave our wet weather gear and winter woolies behind. However waking up to a white garden covered in frost is a reminder that the temperature has not quite reached the summer highs yet.

With this in mind, when boating at this time of year its best to dress for the cold with layers that can be shed for the small windows of sunshine.

For those looking to get out on the water for the first time and as an Ocean Sports Tuition student you will be given a set of wet weather gear, but you will still need to layer up to keep warm and shield your self from the wind chill. Talking of which I would always apply plenty of sunscreen to avoid that wind burn look!
