RYA Tender Operator Course
Ocean Sports Tuition are pleased to launch the brand new RYA Tender Operator course in Southampton in addition to our core schemes. We have introduced this course to meet the demand from the Superyacht industry in particular, as well as being a collaboration between the RYA and the PYA (Professional Yachting Association). This course is specifically designed to follow the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course, in order to teach the students the skills required to transfer crew and guests to and from the mother ship by day and night time.
Is the RYA Tender Operator Course right for me?
The course is specifically aimed at the Superyacht industry. However Ocean Sports Tuition feels this is also the perfect course for students who have attended the RYA Powerboat Level 2 that would like to gain a bit more day and night time experience before attending the RYA Advanced Powerboat Course.
Do I need previous experience?
This course has a minimum age of 17 and students are also required to already hold a RYA Powerboat Level 2 (Coastal) certificate. Additionally, it is recommended that students should have the following:
What will I learn?
The RYA Tender Operators Course will teach boat handling, night pilotage, knowledge of life saving equipment, rules of the road, passenger safety and comfort, as well as emergency situations, type of tenders and their drive systems and legislation and guidance.
Course Schedule
The RYA Tender Operators in Southampton is a two day course; the first day will include an evening session whereas the second day finishes at 17:00.
