RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Academy

SUMMARY

This comprehensive service is well suited to experienced deck hands and individuals that have the current mileage requirement, but possibly haven't ever done any formal training or very little formal training. This is a flexible course where you choose which elements are best for you by attending the relevant sections.

The Academy is designed to aid completion of either your RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification or your RYA Yachtmaster coastal qualification, which is now the entry route for OOW yachts less than 3000GT.

The RYA Yachtmaster certificate of competence is a highly respected qualification worldwide. With RYA commercial endorsement, on successful completion of Ocean Sports Tuition Yachtmaster Coastal Academy you will have all the RYA certificates of competence you need to elevate your career in the motor cruising / superyacht industry.

The Yachtmaster Academy isn't for beginners, and is only suitable for current deckhands with the required miles.

You will need to come with at least 2500nm, you will undertake some of required skippered passages throughout the training programme.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The Yachtmaster Academy includes the following courses:

• RYA Day Skipper theory - online option 
• RYA Diesel engine course
• RYA Radar course
• 3 day practical pilotage and passage course
• 6 day RYA Yachtmaster theory course
• 5 day RYA Coastal Skipper week - this is an option for students that require some of their skippers passages. 
• 4 day RYA MCA Yachtmaster  prep plus 2 day exam

The Yachtmaster Academy can be flexible to suit your needs. If you have your required skippers passages for example, you won't need to complete the 5 day RYA Coastal Skipper week.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COST?

The cost of the Yachtmaster Academy course is £4,956 per person.

Our highly experienced team of professional Yachtmaster instructors, will guide you through the Yachtmaster Academy, delivering high impact, high quality teaching either in a small group or on an individual basis.

Terms:

• Please check your eligibility to be issued with an ICC.
• Group discounts: applies when one booking one payment is taken.
• Group discounts do not apply during extra peak season – i.e., Bank Holiday weekends.
