RYA Sea Survival Course

Are you planning to use a boat this year, either commercially or for pleasure? If so, sea survival training is essential to safeguard you and your family. What’s more, the RYA Sea Survival Course is a recognised qualification for anyone looking to become crew or a commercial skipper.

Our expert instructors will teach you everything you need to know to keep you safe at sea, including basic sea survival skills, how to construct and use the contents of a life raft, and search and rescue techniques.

No, this course is designed for complete beginners and seasoned boaters alike.

What will I learn?

The RYA Sea Survival Course will teach you the following: basic sea survival techniques, liferaft contents, construction of a liferaft, different types of liferafts, search and rescue techniques along with life jacket types. You will also get real life experience of being in a liferaft (in the safety of a swimming pool) and where possible have practical use of live flares.

  • RYA Sea Survival handbook
  • Loan of a life jacket
  • Use of outer protective clothing
  • Expert tuition

Although we will provide you with a life jacket and boiler suit you are more than welcome to bring your own.
