Our expert instructors will teach you everything you need to know about marine survival to keep you safe at sea during our practical sessions, including basic sea survival skills, how to construct and use the contents of a life raft and its safety equipment, and search and rescue techniques.
Do I need previous experience?
No, this course is designed for complete beginners and seasoned boaters alike.
What will I learn?
This 1 day course for RYA Sea Survival on the Solent with Ocean Sports will teach you the following: basic sea survival techniques, life raft contents, construction of a life raft, different types of life rafts, search and rescue techniques along with life jacket types. You will also get real life experience of being in a life raft (in the safety of a supervised swimming pool) and where possible have practical use of live flares.
Your day will include a pool session and a classroom session to learn the practical and theoretical skills of how to survive an emergency situation at sea, including during heavy weather and stormy circumstances.
This 1-day RYA course runs between 0930 – 1700
