Ocean Sports Tuition have been successfully delivering high quality RYA tuition on the south coast and the Solent since 2004. We started from humble beginnings as a RYA Windsurfing School in Mudeford Harbour, finally evolving into an RYA Advanced Powerboat Centre and RYA Yachtmaster Academy. We offer a range of RYA courses covering powerboat and motorboat training, boat delivery services, marine consultancy, marine filming support and waterman services.
At Ocean Sports Tuition, we pride ourselves on never losing sight of our purpose – to provide excellent tuition and service to our customers. Keeping our courses streamlined to powerboat and motorboat training allows us to be experts in every course we offer. Additionally, we use the latest equipment and always provide the best boats to support learning. Our small, friendly environment and approachable team ensures a first class experience for our customers. As a result, you will build close relationships that give you the confidence to secure your learning and have the best possible experience. It is the pride we take in what we do, that sees many of our customers return for further courses.
Where Are We?
Ocean Sports Tuition runs all of our RYA courses from our brand new purpose-built offices in Saxon Wharf Marina, Southampton. Our offices in the converted old winch house are situated at the top of the slipway.
Whatever your requirements, we endeavour to guide you through the process and offer the best possible service and advice to ensure an unforgettable experience.
Owner & Founder, Andy Murray
Since 2004, Andy Murray has strived to provide the perfect environment for beginners and experienced boaters at Ocean Sports Tuition. Andy passionately enjoys time on the water with his wife, 2 young children and puppy (Eli). When not at work, Andy and his family can be found at the beach windsurfing, kite surfing and just generally mucking around in the water.

We are passionate about all things to do with being in, on, or around the water. Our passion is infectious and is passed on to all our students. We are often told “you have a great job” and yes we do. We love sharing our love of the water with you and this comes across in the delivery of our service.
We believe in providing the best possible environment to learn in, which is safe, fun and encouraging. This ensures students feel at ease and are able to excel in their learning. Environment is key to helping students develop new skills and feel safe in asking any questions without feeling silly. We strive to provide this environment for each and every course.
All of our boats and equipment are new or nearly new. We continue to maintain all of our equipment to the highest possible standard. This means that all students have the best possible equipment to enjoy when undertaking their RYA course with Ocean Sports Tuition.
We commit to provide the best possible service from booking through to course completion. We endeavour to give a personal service to every student. Regardless of whether you are booking a series of courses or just need advice, we always provide the highest level of service.
