A client approached us who undertook a Day Skipper Sailing Course at Ocean Sports Tuition. They wanted us to negotiate the purchase of a used 36 foot yacht. As a result, we guided them through the purchase of the boat and successfully negotiated the purchase of “Azuora”. As this was their first boat, we also advised on the type of equipment needed for safe coastal sailing with a young family. Finally, we organised the boat delivery to its new home in Portishead in the Bristol Channel from Lymington (Solent). We are happy to say that the delivery was a huge success. The new owners have spent all their holiday time sailing exploring the UK waters ever since.
Recently we also assisted in the delivery of a refitted Oyster 55 sail boat, from Dartmouth to Madeira in early December. The delivery was fairly eventfully with a constant 40 – 45 knots of breeze. However, both the boat and crew arrived in Madeira in under 8 days all safe and with no damage.
Ocean Sports Tuition now offer road transportation for vessels up to 3 tonnes. Delivery charges by road can be as low as £1.00 per mile plus expenses, therefore it is often a very affordable option.
A client got in touch for advice on purchasing a motorboat and watersports equipment for a holiday home on a lake in Europe.
First of all, we guided them through the process of choosing a new boat that was suitable for their needs. A craft was selected and we oversaw the build, including specifying the boat for the owners needs. The sea trials were carried out and then the vessel was delivered to its new home in Europe. Lastly, we arranged the purchase of a sailing dinghy, canoes, paddle boards, wetsuits, and all the necessary safety equipment.
One of our boatman captains have provided the supervision to run this over the the past five summers, offering sailing lessons, wakeboard and ski tuition, in addition to ongoing supervision of maintenance.
