Is this course right for me?
The RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course is for those boaters who want to embark upon longer coastal passages by day to broaden and expand upon their RYA Powerboat Level 2 knowledge
Do I need previous experience?
YES – RYA Powerboat Level 2 (or equivalent experience)
The following courses will also help – VHF, First Aid and Day Skipper theory.
Students must be 16 years of age.
What will I learn?
The RYA Intermediate Powerboat course will give you the opportunity to plan a cruise by day time. You will have the opportunity to participate in two cruises – one by traditional methods of navigation and the other by GPS. This course will develop your existing ability around safety and boat handling.
Subjects covered will include: chart work, tides, compass rose, weather, position fixing, navigation by GPS, methods of navigation at high speed, pile moorings, manoeuvring in locks and a range of man overboard methods.

This course is £325.00 per person. Courses take place in small groups, maximum group size of 3. Alternatively, we can run this course on a one to one basis at a cost of £810 plus VAT.
