The RYA DSC VHF Radio Course is the only course that is a requirement of use for boaters in the UK. Upon successful completion of this course you will gain your VHF Radio license, this is issued by the RYA on behalf of the MCA. You now have two ways to complete the RYA VHF Radio Course – at your leisure online or face-to-face in our classroom.
The online format allows you to take the course at your own pace, using training videos and interactive sessions. You can spread the training over a number of day, weeks or even months if you wish. This 8 hour training course is then followed by a face-to-face assessment at our classroom with an RYA VHF Assessor. You will learn face-to-face with a professional Ocean Sports Tuition RYA VHF Short Range Radio Instructor, using our training radios to practice making routine, urgency and distress calls. These are made both by voice procedure and DSC. The training is also assessed by an independent RYA VHF Assessor at the end of your training day.
Training = £99 pp
There is an additional fee of £60 payable directly to the RYA, please pay for this online before attending your course.
