Since our reopening on 4th July, Ocean Sports has been lucky enough to train over 150 new and returning boating enthusiasts, giving them the tools that they needed to gain their RYA certifications. We are very grateful for all of your patience during lockdown, and are very proud of your achievements during training!
During the last month and a half, Andy and the team at Ocean Sports have met individuals and families from 12 to 60+ years old who have undertaken our most popular course, the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course. Perfect for those with little or no powerboating experience, this course teaches the basics of boat safety, handling, and navigation. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to skipper a powerboat under the RYA principles of sailing, and is a great introduction to the world of practical boat training.
To adhere to government guidance regarding social distancing and to ensure the safety of our staff and trainees, Ocean Sports moved the classroom onto the slipway to provide a more open environment in which our students could study. Additionally, the Ocean Sports team sanitise all boats and RIBs between use, thoroughly disinfect indoor spaces and where possible, move indoor activities outside.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is a great way to learn the basics of boat handling as a family. If your family owns a boat, or regular charters a boat, why not book a training course for the whole family?
Here are just a few of the 140 people who have gained their RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification since July.
