If you have completed your RYA Powerboat level 2 and now want to develop your skills and qualifications and deepen your boating knowledge to venture to unfamiliar waters, Ocean Sports Tuition would love to help you realise your power boating cruising ambitions with this great day cruising course, the RYA Intermediate powerboat course.
Do I need previous experience?
YES – RYA powerboat level 2 (or equivalent experience)
The following courses will also help – VHF, First Aid and Day Skipper theory.
Students must be 16 years of age.
What will I learn?
The RYA Intermediate Powerboat course will give you the opportunity to plan a cruise by day time. You will have the opportunity to participate in two cruises – one by traditional methods of navigation and the other by GPS. This course will develop your existing ability around safety and boat handling.
Subjects covered will include: chart work, tides, compass rose, weather, position fixing, navigation by GPS, methods of navigation at high speed, pile moorings, manoeuvring in locks and a range of man overboard methods.

Courses take place the 3rd weekend of every month from 09:30 – 17:00 = £325
This course is £325.00 per person. Courses take place in small groups, maximum group size of three. Alternatively we can run this course on a one to one basis at a cost of £810.
