Why Learn with Ocean Sports Tuition

Ocean Sports Tuition, powerboat specialists have been successfully delivering high quality RYA tuition on the south coast and the Solent since 2004. Starting from humble beginnings as a RYA Windsurfing School in Mudeford Harbour, over time we have evolved into an RYA Advanced Power Boat Centre offering a range of RYA courses, boat delivery services, marine consultancy, marine filming support and waterman services.

Ocean Sports Tuition doesn’t profess to be the biggest RYA training school in the Solent, but we believe that to be our strength as we never lose sight of our purpose – to provide excellent tuition and service to our customers. Keeping our courses streamlined allows us to be experts in the ones we offer, using the latest equipment and providing the best boats to support learning. Our small, friendly environment and approachable team ensures a first class experience for our customers, building close relationships that you can feel confident in to secure your learning and to get out everything you want from the experience. It is the pride we take in what we do, that sees many of our customers return for further courses.

Since 2004 Andy Murray, the owner of Ocean Sports Tuition, has been striving to provide the perfect environment for offering tuition to new comers and experienced boaters. Andy has a passion for the water and along with his wife and 2 young children and new puppy (Eli) they all enjoy time on the water. When not at work Andy and the family can be found at the beach enjoying windsurfing, kite surfing and just generally mucking around in the water.

Ocean Sports Tuition runs all our RYA courses from our brand new purpose built offices in Saxon Wharf Marina, Southampton. It is actually a conversion of the old winch house so we are situated right at the top of the slip way.

Whatever your requirements, we endeavor to guide you through the process and offer you the best possible service and advice to give you an unforgettable experience.

We pride ourselves on:

We are passionate about all things to do with being in, on, or around the water. This passion is infectious and is passed on to all our students. We are often told “you have a great job” and yes we do, we just love sharing our passion with you and this comes across in the delivery of our service.

We believe that in providing the best possible environment to learn in, which is safe, fun and encouraging, students can feel at ease and excel in their learning. Environment is key to helping students develop new skills and feel safe in asking any questions without feeling silly. We strive to provide this environment for each and every course.

All our boats and equipment are new or nearly new. We continue to maintain all of our equipment to the highest possible standard. This in turn gives all students the best possible equipment to enjoy when undertaking their RYA course with Ocean Sports Tuition.

We commit to provide the best possible service from booking through to course completion. We endeavor to a give personal service to each student. All students and clients are important to us, so whether you’re purchasing a series of courses or just want some advice, we endeavour to provide you a high level of service.

Ocean Sports Tuition is a small and friendly company, we are always on hand to answer the phone and to offer advice. In day to day living we have all come across bad service and advice and Ocean Sports Tuition can’t stand this. We strive to be the best we can. As we are a relatively small operation, we do our utmost to ensure that all our customers have a feeling of being part of the family on our courses and gain a valuable, enjoyable experience that they would recommend to others.
